No connection: what to do
When the connection drops, Taska waits for it and reconnects by itself, so you don't need to refresh the page. Check your internet and don't close a task window with unsaved changes.
If you see the “Connection Lost” message
Taska shows this message when your computer or phone loses its network. Below the title, it says “You're offline. Changes won't be saved until the connection is back.” The page stays open. When the connection is back, Taska reconnects by itself and loads what your teammates changed in the meantime.
- Check your Wi-Fi, cable or mobile network. If you work through a VPN, check it too.
- Don't change anything while you're offline. Changes made without a connection aren't saved.
- If you were editing a task, don't close its window. If you click “Save” while offline, Taska shows an error, and your changes stay in the fields. When the connection is back, click “Save” again. Repeat other actions, such as moving a card, once you're back online.
In a task chat, “Connection lost. Reconnecting...” appears under the input field when the connection drops, and the send button stops working. Your text stays in the field, so you can send it when the connection is back.
Losing your internet connection doesn't sign you out. If the sign-in form opens, your session has expired. See “Sessions, tabs and signing out”.
If you see the “No connection” screen instead of Taska
This screen appears when Taska can't load its data as you open or refresh the page. Below “We cannot reach Taska”, you see what's happening: “Connecting...” or “Next attempt in N s”. The pause between attempts grows up to 30 seconds.
- Check the internet connection on your device.
- Wait. Taska opens by itself as soon as it reaches the server.
- To try right away, click “Try again”.
If your internet works but the screen stays for several minutes, write to support at support@taska.be. Other ways to reach support are described in “How to contact Taska support”.
If you see “Connection is taking longer than usual”
The data has been loading for more than 9 seconds. This usually means a slow network, and Taska keeps trying. Wait, or click “Try again” to reload the page.
If the Android app doesn't open
Without a network, the app shows its own “No internet connection” screen and opens Taska by itself when the connection is back. If there's a network but the server doesn't respond, the screen says “Taska is not responding”. See “Taska on your phone: the Android app”.
If the page doesn't open at all
If your browser shows its own error instead of Taska, the page didn't load because of the network. Check your connection and refresh the page once you're back online.
