Taska

Assignee, deadline and priority

Updated:

In Taska, you set the assignee, deadline and priority in the task window, in the “Assignee”, “Deadline” and “Priority” fields. After editing, click “Save”.

How to set the assignee, deadline and priority

  1. Open the task.
  2. In the “Assignee” field, choose a person. To remove the assignee, choose “Not assigned”.
  3. Click the “Deadline” field and pick a day in the calendar. The hour and minute fields below the calendar show the deadline time, and picking a day keeps it. If the task had no deadline, they show the next full hour. To change the time, edit these fields. To switch between AM and PM, click the AM/PM button next to the minutes, or press A or P in the hour or minute field.
  4. In the “Priority” field, choose “Highest”, “High”, “Normal” or “Low”.
  5. Click the “Save” button with a check mark in the bottom right corner of the window.

A task has one assignee. Taska assigns a new task to the person who creates it and gives it “Normal” priority.

Quick buttons in the calendar

At the bottom of the calendar there are four icon buttons. They have no captions. Hover over a button to see its name.

The Deadline calendar: below the hour and minute fields are four icon buttons. Today is numbered 1, Tomorrow 2, Next week 3 and Clear 4
  1. The first button (“Today”) sets today's date. If the time in the hour and minute fields has already passed today, it sets the next full hour.
  2. The second button (“Tomorrow”) sets tomorrow's date.
  3. The third button (“Next week”) sets the date one week from today.
  4. The fourth button (“Clear”) removes the deadline and closes the calendar.

The first three buttons change only the date and keep the deadline time. If the task had no deadline, they set the next full hour.

The calendar stays open when you pick a day, so you can adjust the time right away. To close it, click anywhere in the window. Then click “Save”.

How priority looks on the card

PriorityCircle on the cardFlag on the card
“Highest”redred
“High”yellowyellow
“Normal”graynone
“Low”bluenone

The deadline on the card changes color too. See “Task card: what it shows” for what the colors mean.

Quick edits from the card

Right-click the card. The menu has “Priority”, “Deadline” and, if you aren't the assignee, “Assign to me”. Under “Deadline” you can choose “Today”, “Tomorrow”, “Next week” or “Clear the deadline”. These options keep the deadline time the same way the calendar buttons do. Changes from the menu are saved right away, so you don't need to click “Save”.

There's no “Assignee” field

The field appears when the project has more than one person. If you're the only person in the project, you're always the assignee. Tasks in “Inbox” are always assigned to you too.

How to remove a deadline

In the calendar, click the fourth button (“Clear”), then click “Save”. Or in the card menu, choose “Deadline” and then “Clear the deadline”. A task without a deadline doesn't appear in “Today”.

Who gets the deadline reminder

The reminder goes to the assignee, or to the task's author if there's no assignee. When and where it arrives depends on your notification settings, see “Notification settings: in-app feed, push notifications and spaces”. A task has no reminder setting of its own.
