“Do not disturb” mode
“Do not disturb” in Taska temporarily mutes push notifications, Telegram messages and pop-ups. Pause notifications for an hour or until morning, or set the days and hours when they may arrive.
What the mode mutes
The mode only affects delivery. During quiet time, push notifications and Telegram bot messages don't arrive, and pop-ups don't appear in Taska. Events always go to the notification feed, so you'll find everything that happened during quiet time in the notifications panel. See “Notifications: the panel and notification types” for more about the panel.
The morning summary and the evening summary in Telegram follow your activity hours, not the receiving schedule. Only a pause or a day turned off in the schedule cancels them.
The mode's settings are shared across all your devices and are saved right away.
How to pause notifications
- At the bottom of the sidebar, click the button with your name and open the “Notifications” tab.
- Click “Do not disturb”.
- In the “Pause notifications” block, choose “For 1 hour”, “For 3 hours”, “Until morning” or “Until Monday”.
“On pause” appears at the top, along with the time the pause lasts until. “Until morning” ends at the nearest 9 AM, and “Until Monday” ends at 9 AM on the coming Monday. A pause applies to all spaces at once. To end it early, click “Resume now”.
How to set a receiving schedule
The schedule says on which days and at which hours notifications arrive. The rest of the time is quiet.
- On the “Notifications” tab, click “Do not disturb”.
- Turn on “Receive notifications only at the set time”.
- Pick a preset: “Weekdays 9 to 18”, “Every day 9 to 21” or “By activity hours”. You can also set each day separately: every day has a switch and “from” and “to” times.
- To copy Monday's hours to the other days that are on, click “Same as Monday”.
To the right of each day, Taska shows what you've set.
- “Silent all day”. The day is turned off.
- “Around the clock”. The “from” and “to” times are the same.
- “Until the next day”. The window runs past midnight, for example from 8 PM to 2 AM.
Times follow the time zone of your profile, which is shown under the switch. Until you turn the schedule on, it's filled with your activity hours. See “Profile: name and activity hours”.
When the schedule makes it quiet, the top of the section says “Quiet time by schedule” and the time the next receiving window opens. If you turn off every day, it says “No receiving window in the schedule”.
What to mute during quiet time
The “In quiet time” block has three switches: “Do not send push notifications”, “Do not send to Telegram” and “Do not show pop-ups in the app”. By default, all three are on. If a channel should keep working during quiet time, turn its switch off.
What to let through anyway
In the “Let through anyway” block, turn on what should arrive even during quiet time and during a pause.
- “What is addressed to me: mentions, replies, assignments”. This also covers reactions to your messages and replies to your comments on articles.
- “Deadline reminders”.
By default, both switches are off.
A separate schedule for a space
Each space can have its own rule. On the “Notifications” tab, click “Spaces”, pick a space, and in the “When to send” field choose “By the general schedule”, “Own schedule” or “At any time”. A pause applies even where “At any time” is selected. See “Notification settings: in-app feed, push notifications and spaces”.
On a phone
The mobile app has the same settings. Tap the menu button on the right of the bottom bar, then the button with your name, and open the “Notifications” tab. A pause you set on your phone also applies on your computer.
Notifications don't arrive even though the mode is off
