Account and sign-in FAQ

Updated:

Short answers about your Taska account: email, password, signing in on several devices, Yandex ID and deleting your account. Follow the links for details.

Email and password

Can I change my account email?

Yes, through support. The “User profile” window shows your email as read-only, so you can't change it yourself. Write to support@taska.be from the new address and include your account email. Support first makes sure the account is yours and may ask a few questions, then changes the address. Sign in with the new email and your current password.

The confirmation email didn't arrive. What should I do?

Check your spam folder and the address you signed up with. If there's still no email, write to support@taska.be from that address, and support will confirm your account manually. If the address has a typo, write from the correct address and include the one with the typo: support will fix the email and confirm the account. See “No email from Taska or you can't sign in”.

How do I change my password if I remember it?

In the “User profile” window, click “Change password”, then enter your current password and the new one. See “Profile: name and activity hours”.

What happens after I change my password?

If you set a new password with the link from the “Forgot password?” email, Taska signs you out on all devices, including the mobile app. Sign in again with your new password. If you changed your password in the “User profile” window, you stay signed in on this device, and on other devices you'll need to sign in again.

Is there sign-in with a verification code?

No. Taska doesn't have two-factor authentication yet. You sign in with a password or with Yandex ID.

Signing in and devices

Can I be signed in on several devices at once?

Yes. You can be signed in on your computer, laptop and phone at the same time, and signing out on one device doesn't affect the others. See “Sessions, tabs and signing out”.

How do I sign out on all devices?

There's no separate button. Change your password in the “User profile” window: you'll be signed out on all other devices and stay signed in on this one. If you set a new password via “Forgot password?” on the sign-in form, you'll be signed out everywhere.

How long does Taska keep me signed in?

For 30 days after your last activity. As long as you use Taska, the period renews by itself.

Can I use two accounts in one browser?

No. All tabs of a browser share one sign-in. Open your second account in a different browser or in a private window.

Yandex ID

Can I sign in both with Yandex ID and with a password?

Yes, if the email in your Yandex ID matches your Taska account email. The first time you sign in with Yandex ID, Taska links them automatically. An account created with Yandex ID has no password, but you can set one with the “Set a password” button in the “User profile” window. See “How to sign in or sign up with Yandex ID”.

Why is there no Yandex button in the mobile app?

Signing in with Yandex ID isn't available in the Android mobile app. Sign in with your email and password there. If you don't have a password, set one in a browser: with the “Set a password” button in the “User profile” window or via “Forgot password?” on the sign-in form.

Profile and deleting your account

How do I change my first and last name?

Open the “User profile” window with the button with your name at the bottom of the sidebar and edit the “First name” and “Last name” fields on the “Profile” tab. Changes are saved automatically. See “Profile: name and activity hours”.

How do I delete my account?

In the “User profile” window, on the “Profile” tab, click “Delete account” at the bottom and confirm the deletion. Deletion can't be undone, and even support can't restore your account. If you own a team that has other members, the deletion won't start. See “How to delete your account”.

Can I sign up again with the same email after deleting my account?

Yes, but it will be a new, empty account. The projects and tasks of the deleted account won't come back.
