How to reset your password
If you forgot your Taska password, request an email with a link on the sign-in form and use it to set a new one. The link works for 3 days. If you remember your password, change it in your profile.
How to request the email
- On the sign-in form, click “Forgot password?”.
- In the “Email” field, enter the address your account is registered with.
- Click “Send”.
The message “Password reset instructions have been sent to your email” appears below the form.
Taska shows this message for any address, even if there's no account with it. This way nobody can use the form to find out whose email is registered. The email itself arrives only if an account with this address exists and the address is confirmed.
How to set a new password
- Open the “Password reset request in Taska” email and follow the link in it.
- Choose a new password and enter it in the “New password” and “Repeat new password” fields.
- Click “Change password”.
Taska opens the sign-in form. Sign in with your new password.
The new password has the same requirements as at sign-up. It must be at least 8 characters long. A password made only of digits, a common one like qwerty123, or one similar to your email won't be accepted.
If the link in the email doesn't work
The link works once and for 3 days. It also stops working if you signed in to your account after requesting it, for example because you remembered your old password. In these cases you'll see the error “Invalid or expired link” after you click “Change password”. Request a new email.
If the email doesn't arrive
Check your spam folder. Make sure you entered the same email you signed up with. If your email isn't confirmed yet, the password reset email won't arrive. Confirm your email first with the link in the welcome email from Taska. If that email didn't arrive either, see “No email from Taska or you can't sign in”.
If you remember your password and want to change it
Change it in your profile. At the bottom of the sidebar, click the button with your name, then click “Change password” in the “User profile” window. You'll need your current password. You stay signed in on this device, and on other devices you'll need to sign in again. See “Profile: name and activity hours”.
If your account was created with Yandex ID
Such an account has no password. You can set one the same way, and the email goes to your Yandex ID address. Or click “Set a password” in the “User profile” window, and you'll get the same email. After that you can sign in either with Yandex ID or with your email and password. See “How to sign in or sign up with Yandex ID”.
