My tasks: views and what each one shows

Updated:

In Taska, “My tasks” gathers tasks that concern you from all your spaces, including tasks without a deadline. The view decides which of them to show. The exact conditions of each view are below.

In the sidebar, click “My tasks”. It opens in the “Assigned to me” view. Tasks from archived projects don't appear in any view.

How to switch views

  1. In the header, click the button with the name of the current view, for example “Assigned to me”.
  2. Choose a view in the menu.
My tasks: the Assigned to me view button is numbered 1, the open view menu with the My role, Waiting for me and Deadlines and progress sections is numbered 2

Each view shows the number of its tasks. The numbers of the “Waiting for me” views and of the “On fire” view are highlighted. If someone mentioned you while another view is open, a dot lights up on the view button. The view, grouping and sorting are remembered on this device and added to the page address, so you can share a link to a view.

“New for me”Open tasks that someone else assigned to you in the last 7 days. They made you the assignee or created the task for you right away
“No deadline”Open tasks without a deadline where you are the assignee. Such tasks don't get into “Today” and “Upcoming”

“Done this week”Tasks closed in the last 7 days where you are the assignee or the author

Summary by project

The last menu item, “Summary by project”, opens a table. It has a row for each project and the columns “Assigned to me”, “On fire”, “Mentions and replies”, “Unread”, “Delegated by me” and “Unassigned”. A number in a cell opens that view for the selected project only. Projects where something is on fire or someone is waiting for you are at the top. Grouping, sorting and the summary are covered in “My tasks: grouping, sorting and the project summary”.

Why a task in the list has faded

When a task no longer fits the view, it doesn't vanish at once but fades. This happens when you read a mention, close the task or take it yourself. It leaves the list when you switch views or open “My tasks” again.
