Tasks on your phone
On a phone, the task window in Taska fills the screen, and its parts are on tabs. The buttons have no labels, only icons. Here's where to find things and what works differently from a computer.
The task window
Tap a card to open the window. The top says “Task”.
- Header. The cross on the right closes the window. The gear, “Custom fields”, opens the project's fields. For tasks in a team space, the header also has “Set a blocker” (the STOP sign) and “Link with a task” (chain links).
- Tabs. The pencil opens the task fields, the checked square opens the “Checklist”, the speech bubble the chat, and the sheets icon the files. In a team space, there may also be “Related tasks” and “Blockers” tabs. The number on them shows how many links or blockers the task has.
- Buttons on the bottom left. The trash can deletes the task, the next button copies a link to it, the star adds the task to favorites, and the clock opens the task history.
- Buttons on the bottom right. The cross closes the window, and the check mark saves the task fields.
The bottom buttons are only on the fields tab. Text you've typed isn't lost when you switch tabs.
What works differently on a phone
| Action | On a computer | On a phone |
|---|---|---|
| Card menu | Right-click the card | No menu. Use the task window or the selection panel |
| Quick look at a task | Space key or the pointer resting on a card | Not available. “+N” on a card opens the task window |
| Drag a card | Drag it with the mouse right away | Hold your finger on the card, then drag |
| Select several tasks | Click cards with Ctrl held down (⌘ on a Mac) | Hold your finger on a card for half a second, then tap other cards |
| Create a task | “+” in a column or “Create a task” in the sidebar | “+” in the bottom bar. On a board, the task goes to the first column. On other screens, it goes to the “Inbox” |
| Create a copy | Button in the bottom row of the task window | Select the task and tap the button with two sheets on the bottom panel |
| Set a blocker | STOP sign when you hover over a card | STOP sign in the header of the task window |
| Chat message menu | “⋮” next to a message or a right-click | Tap the message, and the menu opens at the bottom |
| Set up the task form | “Set up the task form” button in the window header | The gear, “Custom fields” |
The “Create a task” window also opens full screen on a phone. It has the “Task”, “Checklist” and “Files” tabs, and at the bottom there's a cross and a plus button that creates the task. See “How to create a task”.
Your phone's Back button closes the open window. To learn how to install the Android app and what it offers, see “Taska on your phone: the Android app”.
