“Invited me”: projects shared with you
In Taska, “Invited me” collects projects from other people's personal spaces that you were invited to. A team project or board you were invited to on its own appears in that team's block instead.
What goes into “Invited me”
Everyone in Taska has a personal space. Its owner can open one of their projects, or one section of a project, to another person without letting them into anything else. Those projects are collected in “Invited me”.
- Projects from another person's personal space that they invited you to as a member or a guest.
- Single sections of such projects, that is a board, a knowledge base or a roadmap. Each shared section gets its own card and looks like a separate project.
Templates, archived projects and projects you can only reach through a service desk don't appear here.
If you were invited to a project or section of a team space, look for it in that team's block in the sidebar. The block shows only the projects you were let into, and it has no space settings or project creation buttons.
Where to find shared projects
The “Invited me” block sits in the sidebar after the team spaces. It appears only when there is at least one project in it. Click the block name to open the “Invited me” page with project cards. The number to the right of the page title shows how many cards there are.
Each card has a “shared” icon. Hover over it to see who gave you access, for example “Amy Collins has given you access to this project”. While you have no shared projects, the page says “No invited projects”.
You can drag the cards to put them in your own order. The sidebar uses the same order. You can't move a card from here into your own space.
What you can do in a shared project
It depends on the role you were invited with.
| Role | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Member | Create, edit and close tasks and write in the chat. You can't rename, archive or delete someone else's project, and these items aren't in the menu |
| Guest | Only view. The task window opens as read-only, and you can't write in the chat either |
Roles are described in detail in “Roles: owner, admin, member and guest”, and read-only access in “Why you only have read-only access”.
Tasks from shared projects get into “Today”, “Upcoming” and “My tasks” by the same rules as tasks from your own spaces. The rules are described in “Inbox, Today, Upcoming and My tasks: how tasks get into your lists”. In “My tasks”, the group of such a project is labeled “Invited me / Project name”. In the “Upcoming” calendar filter and in the “Move to board” window, these projects are also in the “Invited me” group.
How to leave a project
Both a member and a guest can leave a project or section they were invited to.
- On the “Invited me” page, click the three-dot button on the card.
- Choose “Leave the project”. For a single section, the item is called “Leave the section”.
- For a project, Taska asks you to confirm. Click “Leave”.
After you leave a project, Taska shows “You have left the project” and opens “Today”. After you leave a section, you'll see “You have left the section”. If you see “Invitation not found”, ask the owner to remove your access.
You can also leave right from the sidebar. Hover over the project in the “Invited me” block and click the crossed-circle icon.
A project disappeared from “Invited me”
The owner removed your access, archived the project or deleted it. If you need access again, ask the owner to invite you once more. How to accept an invitation is described in “How to accept an invitation to a team”.
Example
Amy, an illustrator, runs a project called “Landing page illustrations” in her personal space and invites you as a member. You get an email and an “Invitation” notification in Taska. You accept the invitation, and the “Invited me” block with this project appears in your sidebar. You create tasks there and write in the chat. A task Amy assigned to you for tomorrow shows up in your “Upcoming” next to your team's tasks.
