Profile: name and activity hours
In Taska, you change your name, activity hours and password in the “User profile” window. Activity hours are used in the calendar, in “Do not disturb” and for Telegram summaries.
How to change your name
- At the bottom of the sidebar, click the button with your name. The “User profile” window opens on the “Profile” tab.
- Edit the “First name” and “Last name” fields.
- Click outside the field. A couple of seconds later, Taska saves the change and shows “Profile saved”.
Your colleagues see the new name on task cards, in the member list and in the chat. The “First name” field can't be empty. If you clear it, Taska shows “First name cannot be empty” and saves nothing.
On a phone, tap the menu button on the right of the bottom bar. The button with your name is at the very bottom of the menu.
What activity hours are
Activity hours are the time when you usually work, for example from 9:00 to 18:00. Until you change them, they are set from 9:00 to 21:00. Taska uses them in three places.
- In the board calendar and the “Upcoming” calendar, the hours outside this time are shaded, and the week scrolls to the start of your working day. A task you create on an empty day in the calendar gets a deadline at the start of your working day.
- In “Do not disturb”. Until you set up the receiving schedule, Taska fills it with your activity hours for every day of the week. The schedule only works once you turn it on. See “‘Do not disturb’ mode”.
- In the Telegram bot. The morning summary arrives at the start hour and the evening summary at the end hour. The bot's quick deadline buttons follow these hours too: the one for today sets the end of your working day, the one for tomorrow sets its start. See “How to use the Taska bot in Telegram”.
Activity hours use the time zone of your profile. Taska takes it from the settings of the computer or phone where you last opened Taska.
How to set your activity hours
- At the bottom of the sidebar, click the button with your name.
- In the “Calendar settings” block, choose the start hour in the “From” field and the end hour in the “to” field.
- Wait a couple of seconds. Taska saves the hours and shows “Profile saved”.
The start must be earlier than the end. Otherwise “Start time must be earlier than end time” appears under the fields, and the hours aren't saved. This means you can't set a night shift such as 22:00 to 6:00.
Under the fields there's a “Set up Do not disturb” link. It opens the receiving schedule on the “Notifications” tab.
How to change your password
- Click the button with your name at the bottom of the sidebar. The “User profile” window opens.
- In the “Password” block, click “Change password”.
- Fill in the “Current password”, “New password” and “Repeat new password” fields.
- Click “Save”. Taska shows the message “The password has been changed”.
The new password must be at least 8 characters long. A password made only of digits, a common one, or one similar to your email or name won't be accepted.
After the change, you stay signed in on this device. On other devices, you'll need to sign in again with the new password.
If you don't remember your current password, click “Send a link by email” below the fields. You'll get the same email as after “Forgot password?” on the sign-in form. To set a new password with it, follow “How to reset your password”.
If your account was created with Yandex ID and has no password, the “Password” block has a “Set a password” button instead of “Change password”. It sends you a link by email, and you set the password with that link. See “How to sign in or sign up with Yandex ID”.
How to change your email
You can't change your account email in the profile, it's shown read-only. Support can change it. Write to support@taska.be from the new address and include your account email. Support first makes sure the account is yours and may ask a few questions. After the change, sign in with the new email and your current password.
