Breadcrumbs and moving between sections
In Taska, breadcrumbs above the page show the path to what's open. A link with a down arrow opens a list of neighboring spaces, projects or sections, and you can jump to any of them with one click.
What the breadcrumbs show
The path reads from left to right.
- The house icon. It takes you to the “Today” screen.
- The space. Your personal space is labeled “My projects”, and a team space shows its name.
- The project.
- In an extended project, the project is followed by a type of section, such as “Boards” or “Roadmaps”, and then by the section itself.
- When a task window is open, the path ends with “Tasks” and the task name. “Tasks” takes you to the board where the task is.
The last link shows where you are now. On the “Today”, “Inbox”, “Upcoming”, “My tasks” and “Favorites” screens, the house icon is followed only by the screen name.
How to switch to a neighboring project or section
- Click a link with a down arrow. A list opens, and your current place in it has a check mark.
- Click the row you want to go to.
To close the list without going anywhere, click outside it or press Esc.
A link with an arrow only opens the list and doesn't take you anywhere by itself. To open its page, pick the row with the check mark in the list. For example, in the space's list, that row opens the list of projects in that space.
What each link's list contains
| Link | What's in the list |
|---|---|
| Space | All your spaces, plus “Service desks” if you're a member of at least one desk |
| Project | The other projects in this space, except archived projects and templates |
| Type of section, such as “Boards” | The types of sections in this project: “Boards”, “Knowledge”, “Roadmaps” and “Workflow”, if the project has them |
| Board, knowledge base or roadmap | All sections of the project, grouped under “Boards”, “Knowledge base” and “Roadmaps” |
| Service desk | Your other desks |
The arrow appears only if there's somewhere to go. For example, if a space has only one project, its link works as a regular link. Lists of sections exist only in extended projects. See “Simple and extended projects: how a project grows”. If you were invited to just one section of a project, you won't see the list of sections.
The “Archive” and “Project template library” links
“Archive” appears before an archived project and takes you to the list of projects in the space. “Project template library” appears before a project template and opens the library window. The template itself appears in the path as the word “Template” followed by its name.
The path doesn't fit on one line
You can scroll the breadcrumbs sideways. On a phone, swipe them with your finger. On a computer, scroll with the touchpad, or with the mouse wheel while holding Shift.
