No email from Taska or you can't sign in
Most often an email from Taska is sitting in your spam folder, and sign-in fails because the email address isn't confirmed yet. Check these causes first.
If the confirmation email didn't arrive
The email is called “Welcome to Taska!” and has an “Activate account” button.
- Check your spam folder and the other folders and tabs in your mailbox, such as “Promotions” or “Updates”.
- Add noreply@taska.be to your contacts so that future emails from Taska don't go to spam.
- Check the address you signed up with. If there's a typo, write to support@taska.be from the correct address and include the one with the typo. Support will fix the email and confirm your account. You can also sign up again with the correct address.
- If the address is correct but there's still no email, sign in with Yandex ID using the same email. This confirms your account, but the password you chose at sign-up stops working. Set a new password with the “Set a password” button in the “User profile” window, see “How to sign in or sign up with Yandex ID”.
- If you don't have a Yandex ID, write to support@taska.be from the address you signed up with. Support will confirm your account manually, and you can sign in with your email and the password you chose at sign-up.
Taska can't resend the email yet. Signing up again with the same address won't work either. Taska will say that this user already exists.
If Taska says your email or password is wrong
A yellow message below the fields asks you to enter a correct username and password. Possible causes:
- A typo. Check your keyboard layout and Caps Lock. To see what you typed, click the eye icon to the right of the password field.
- Your email isn't confirmed. For an unconfirmed account, Taska shows the same error as for a wrong password. Find the “Welcome to Taska!” email and click “Activate account”.
- Your account was created with Yandex ID. It has no password. Click “Sign in with Yandex ID” or set a password via “Forgot password?”.
- You forgot your password. Set a new one as described in “How to reset your password”.
If the password reset email didn't arrive
- Check your spam folder. The email is called “Password reset request in Taska”.
- Make sure you entered your account's email. Taska shows the confirmation message for any address, but the email is sent only if an account with that address exists.
- If your email isn't confirmed yet, the reset email won't arrive. Confirm your email first.
If a link in an email doesn't open
- The link in the “Welcome to Taska!” email works once. If you've already used it, your account is active, so just sign in.
- The password reset link works for 3 days and also only once. It stops working if you signed in after requesting it. Request a new email.
- The link in an invitation email works for 14 days, and after a repeat invitation only the link from the new email works. If it can't accept the invitation, Taska shows the reason. See “How to accept an invitation to a team”.
If Taska reports too many sign-in attempts
After 10 failed attempts within 5 minutes, Taska temporarily blocks sign-in from your internet address and shows “Too many failed sign-in attempts. Try again later”. Wait 5 minutes and try again. In an office with a shared internet connection, other people's mistakes can use up the limit too.
If Taska asks you to sign in again
If you were signed in and Taska opened the sign-in form, look at the message above the buttons.
- “Your session has expired. Please sign in again.” You haven't used Taska for 30 days, you changed your password, or your browser cleared the site data.
- “You signed out in another tab. Sign in again to continue.” You signed out in another tab of this browser.
Sign in again, and Taska takes you back to the same screen. See “Sessions, tabs and signing out”.
If there's no “Sign in with Yandex ID” button
The Android mobile app doesn't have this button. Sign in with your email and password there. If your account was created with Yandex ID, first set a password in a browser: with the “Set a password” button in the “User profile” window or via “Forgot password?” on the sign-in form.
