Task card: what it shows
A task card in Taska shows the deadline, priority, assignee, checklist progress and new messages. Color appears on it only when something needs your attention.
What's on the card
- The circle to the left of the title. Clicking it marks the task as complete. Its color shows the priority. The circle is red for “Highest”, yellow for “High”, gray for “Normal” and blue for “Low”.
- The deadline. If it's later than tomorrow, the date is gray. Hover over it to see the “Deadline” label. A recurring task has an icon with two arrows next to the date.
- The priority flag. Only tasks with “Highest” (red) or “High” (yellow) priority have it. Hover over the flag to see the priority name.
- The assignee's initials on the right, in that person's color. Hover over them to see the full name. If you're the only person in the project, you won't see your own initials on cards.
- The bar along the bottom edge. It shows how much of the “Checklist” is checked off.
Deadline colors and new messages
- An amber deadline. The task is due today or tomorrow.
- A red deadline. The task is overdue by a week or less. Hover over the date to see by how many days. A week after the deadline, the date turns pale again, and the tooltip suggests updating or removing the deadline.
- A speech bubble with a number. These are unread messages in the task chat. Clicking the bubble opens the task window straight on the chat.

Why cards show different amounts of detail
A card can be shown in one of five views: “Minimal”, “Icons”, “Standard”, “Text” and “Detailed”. “Standard” is the default, and this article describes it. To change the view or choose what a card shows, see “Card view, focus and quick look”.
