Stages and tasks
The unit of planning on the Gantt chart is a project stage: "Research", "MVP", "Beta", "Release". A stage has dates, a color and progress. Tasks on boards are attached to stages, so the plan lives in two views: the manager looks at stages and deadlines, the team works on the kanban board, and both are the same data.
Four dependency types

A dependency is drawn by dragging from one stage to another, and the arrows are colored from the source stage's color to the target's.
