# Link to a task and the “Share” button

Every task in Taska has a permanent link. The “Share” button in the task window or “Copy link” in the card menu copies it. The link keeps working even after the task is moved.

## How to copy the link from the task window

1. Open the task.
2. In the bottom row of the window, click the “Share” button. It has no label: it's the icon with three dots connected by lines. It's usually the second button from the left, right after the trash can.

The task window: in the bottom row, the Share button with three connected dots is numbered 2

Taska shows the notification “Task link copied”. Paste the link into an email, a messenger or a knowledge base article. The link looks like taska.be/app/t/ followed by a short task code.

On a phone, the “Share” button is at the bottom of the task fields tab, and it copies the link too.

## How to copy the link from a card

1. Right-click the task card.
2. Choose “Copy link”.

The task card's right-click menu: Copy link is numbered 2, and Open in a new tab is framed

In the same menu, “Open in a new tab” opens the task in a new browser tab. The right-click menu is available only on a computer.

## Where the link leads

- The link opens the task where it is now: on a board, in the “Inbox” or in a service desk. If the task was moved to another board or project, the link still works.
- Only people with access to the task can open it. Everyone else sees “Task not found”, and Taska opens “Today”.
- If someone isn't signed in to Taska, the sign-in form opens first. After signing in, Taska shows the task right away.
- In the Android app, links to Taska open directly in the app.

A link to a chat message

In the message menu, choose “Copy link”. This link opens the task and scrolls the chat to that message. See “[Task chat: replies, mentions and reactions](https://taska.be/en/help/515-task-chat-replies-mentions-and-reactions)” for more about the message menu.

A teammate sees “Task not found”

Your teammate has no access to the project, board or service desk where the task lives. Invite them to the space or the project, see “[How to invite teammates by email](https://taska.be/en/help/534-how-to-invite-teammates-by-email)”. This also happens if the task was deleted. You can restore a deleted task from the trash within 30 days, see “[How to delete and restore a task](https://taska.be/en/help/524-how-to-delete-and-restore-a-task)”.

How to keep a task at hand

To get back to a task quickly, click the “Add to favorites” star in the bottom row of the task window. The task appears on the “Favorites” screen. See “[How to use Favorites](https://taska.be/en/help/481-how-to-use-favorites)”.
