# How to use Favorites

In Taska, mark a project, section, article, service desk or task with a star, and a bookmark for it appears on the “Favorites” screen. Bookmarks from all your spaces end up there.

Bookmarks are personal. Your teammates don't see them, and they don't change anything in shared projects.

## How to add something to favorites

1. Open the task, project, section or article.
2. Click the star. It turns yellow.

A task window: the star button in the bottom row of buttons is numbered 2

Where the star is depends on what you're marking.

- In a task window, the star button is at the bottom, in the row of buttons on the left.
- For a project, the star is on its card on the space page and in the header of an extended project.
- For a section, the star is on its card on the project page.
- For an article, the star is in the article header.
- For a service desk, the star is on its card and on the desk page.
- On a board or in a knowledge base, open the “⋮” menu in the header and choose “Add to favorites”.

You can also mark a project or section from the sidebar. Right-click its row and choose “Add to favorites”.

## How to open or remove a bookmark

1. In the sidebar, click “Favorites”.
2. Click a row to go to the bookmark.
3. To remove a bookmark, click the yellow star on the right of the row.

The Favorites screen: Favorites in the sidebar is numbered 1, a board row 2 and the yellow star on its right 3

Bookmarks are grouped by project, with a “space / project” path above each group. The project itself is the first row of its group, and tasks come last. Tasks from “Inbox” have a group of their own. The right side of each row says what kind of bookmark it is, and for a task it shows the name of its board.

Right-clicking a row opens a menu with “Open”, “Open in a new tab”, “Copy link” and “Remove from favorites”.

## Favorites in search

Your first 6 bookmarks are shown in the search window right away, before you type anything. Press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) and pick a bookmark from the “Favorites” group. See “[Search and quick navigation (Ctrl+K)](https://taska.be/en/help/479-search-and-quick-navigation-ctrlk)” for details.
