# How to sign in or sign up with Yandex ID

With Yandex ID you sign in to Taska without a password. If you don't have an account yet, Taska creates one right away, with no confirmation email.

Browser only

The Yandex buttons are on the sign-in and sign-up forms on taska.be. The Android mobile app doesn't have them, so sign in there with your email and password.

## How to sign in with Yandex ID

1. On the sign-in form, click “Sign in with Yandex ID”.
2. A Yandex page opens. Sign in to your Yandex ID there if you haven't yet, and allow access. If you've allowed it before, Yandex sends you straight back to Taska.

If you already have a Taska account with the same email as your Yandex ID, Taska links them automatically. You can then sign in either with Yandex ID or with your email and password, as before.

## How to sign up with Yandex ID

1. On taska.be, click “Start free”.
2. Tick both boxes at the bottom of the form. With the first one you agree to the processing of your personal data, and with the second you accept the Terms of Service. You don't need to fill in the email and password fields.
3. Click “Continue with Yandex ID”.
4. Allow access on the Yandex page.

Taska creates an account with the email from your Yandex ID and opens it right away. It also takes your first and last name from Yandex ID. If they're missing there, Taska asks for them in the setup wizard. See “[First launch: the setup wizard](https://taska.be/en/help/465-first-launch-the-setup-wizard)”.

## If Taska asks you to tick the boxes

If you clicked “Sign in with Yandex ID” and there's no Taska account with your Yandex ID email, the sign-up form opens. It shows the message “There is no Taska account for this Yandex ID yet”.

- To create a new account, tick both boxes and click “Continue with Yandex ID”.
- If you have a Taska account with a different email, don't tick the boxes. Click “Already registered?” and sign in with your email and password. Otherwise you'll end up with a second, empty account.

## How to set a password for a Yandex ID account

An account created with Yandex ID has no password. To sign in with your email, for example in the mobile app, set a password.

1. At the bottom of the sidebar, click the button with your name. The “User profile” window opens.
2. In the “Password” block, click “Set a password”. If the account already has a password, the button in this place says “Change password”.
3. Taska sends the “Password reset request in Taska” email to your account address. Open it and follow the link.
4. Enter the password in the “New password” and “Repeat new password” fields and click “Change password”. The password must be at least 8 characters long. A password made only of digits, a common one, or one similar to your email won't be accepted.

Taska opens the sign-in form. Now you can sign in both with Yandex ID and with your email and password. You get the same email if you click “Forgot password?” on the sign-in form. See “[How to reset your password](https://taska.be/en/help/469-how-to-reset-your-password)” for details.

If signing in with Yandex ID fails

Taska takes you back to the sign-in form and shows a yellow message.

- “Sign-in with Yandex ID took too long or was opened in another tab”. You have 15 minutes to finish signing in. Click the Yandex button again in the same tab.
- “Your Yandex ID has no email address”. Taska needs the email from your Yandex ID. Add an address in Yandex ID or sign up with your email.
- “Yandex ID did not respond”. Try again in a few minutes.
- “Could not sign in with Yandex ID”. Try again or sign in with your email and password.
- “This account is disabled”. Contact support at support@taska.be.

If you decline access on the Yandex page, Taska returns you to the sign-in form with no error.

If someone already signed up with your email

Sometimes a Taska account is created with your email, but the email is never confirmed. Signing in with Yandex ID with that email confirms the account and removes its password. This way nobody but you can sign in to it. If you want to sign in with a password, set a new one with the “Set a password” button in the “User profile” window.
