# A knowledge base that lives next to your tasks

## Two editors to choose from

Each page has its own format, so the team doesn't have to agree on one for everyone.

### Block editor

Headings, lists, checklists, tables, charts from tables, columns, collapsible sections, callouts, table of contents, code, images, files and embeds. Blocks are dragged with the mouse.

### Markdown

Plain Markdown with keyboard shortcuts and a side-by-side preview. Handy for technical documentation and developer notes.

## Links and graph

A link to another page is written as `[[Page title]]`, just like in Obsidian. Links work both ways: each page shows who links to it, and links update by themselves when a page is renamed.

Folders, pages and links form a knowledge graph in three views: **2D** for any device, **3D** for an overview of a large base, and **Pack**, nested circles that show at once which branch has grown.

## Connected to tasks

- **A live task card right in the text**: status and assignee update by themselves.
- **Live task lists**: for example, all open bugs of a project listed inside a guideline.
- **Discussions on a highlighted passage**: a question about a paragraph, not the whole page.
- **Several storages per project**: internal guidelines separate from client-facing documentation.

## Working together

Changes to pages, folders and the tree reach everyone instantly. Two people edit the same page and their changes merge without conflicts. Deleted items go to the trash, and the activity log shows who changed what.

## Frequently asked questions

Can I move a knowledge base from Notion, Confluence or Obsidian?

There is no built-in import yet. Pages can be moved through the public API, or you can ask an AI assistant connected to Taska to do it: it creates pages with blocks from ready text.

Are there permissions for individual pages?

Access is set at the space and project level, and a project can hold several storages to separate internal and external documents.

Does the knowledge base work on a phone?

Yes, in the phone's browser. On a phone the 3D graph is replaced with 2D so it is comfortable to use with your fingers.
